十四行诗《我曾试图在黑夜里拥抱太阳》

       I've tried to hug the sun in the dark night,

我曾试图在黑夜里拥抱太阳，

But it was blocked by the bright moon;

可是却被那透亮的明月遮挡；

Ah!The cold and enchanting moonlight!

啊！清冷迷人的月光！

Looking at it!The dawn will come soon!

瞧着吧！晨曦很快将要临降！

The sun! Pierce the dark breast with the sword in thy hand,

太阳啊！用你手中的利剑划破黑暗的胸膛，

With a sharp blade against its throat;

用尖利的剑刃抵着它的喉床；

Forcing it to yield its throne in wonderland,

迫使它把在仙境中的王位让，

Charon was waiting to take him to the boat.

卡戎正在等着把它带到船上。

The moon! Please don't block the shines,

月亮啊！请你不要将阳光遮挡，

So as not to overshadow its glare;

以免荫蔽了它耀眼灼目的光芒；

When it rises slowly above the pines,

待它缓缓升起于那片松林之上，

I will place it in the hall of bare.

我定会将它放置在空荡的殿堂。

Ah! The sun near the date!

啊！那日期临近的太阳！

Oh! The moonlight that will eventually dissipate!

呵！那终将散去的月光！
